Siva Goes Hard in the Paint for Christ

"And with great power the apostles gave their testimony to the resurrection of the Lord Jesus, and great grace was upon them all." Acts 4:33, RSV What a contrast this verse is with John 20:19: "On the evening of that day, the first day of the week, the doors being shut where the disciples were, for fear of the Jews." Whereas before, the disciples of Jesus were afraid of being associated with Christ, now they are boldly giving witness for Christ. Before, they forsook Christ and ran away from Him. Now, they were running for Jesus and telling all who would listen the good news of His resurrection.

The difference between before and after was the confirmation of God's word and the gift of the Holy Spirit. These gifts gave them great power and boldness to give their testimony for Christ in spite of threats, abuse, persecution and even martyrdom for the naming the name of Christ.

Let us pray today for the same boldness of faith and power to witness for Christ that His disciples received, so that we can be bold and effective witnesses for Christ in our homes, workplaces and everywhere the Lord Jesus sends us. God will give us a platform to give Him glory if we demonstrate our willingness to do so. Just like Peyton Siva, point guard for the 2013 NCAA Champion Louisville Cardinals, took the opportunity on national TV to give glory to the Lord Jesus Christ for winning the championship, let us with every opportunity that presents itself glorify Christ for winning the victory over sin, death and the devil at Calvary.
